Frequently Asked Questions
Find answers to common questions about volunteering with us.
Do I need specific qualifications to volunteer?
While specific roles like teaching may require qualifications, we have opportunities for volunteers of all backgrounds. Your enthusiasm and dedication are the most important qualities.
How long can I volunteer for?
We accept volunteers for short-term (1-4 weeks), medium-term (1-3 months), and long-term (3+ months) commitments. Longer stays allow for deeper connections with the children.
Is there a fee for volunteering?
We ask for a modest contribution to cover accommodation, meals, and program costs. This helps sustain our operations. The fee is around $500 per week. The fee varies based on the length of your stay and the type of accommodation you'll need. Also, it'll be reduced if you decide to stay longer than a week.
What accommodations are provided?
Volunteers stay in shared accommodations on or near the orphanage grounds. Basic amenities are provided, including meals, but expect a modest living arrangement.
Can I volunteer remotely?
Yes, we offer remote volunteering opportunities in areas such as grant writing, social media management, fundraising, and virtual teaching or tutoring.
